But your post reminds me of <a href="http://www.onthemedia.org/story/on-the-media-2014-05-30/" rel="nofollow">this podcast from On The Media.</a> One of the reporters talks about how Rodger may have been a sick man, but like all mental illness, it occurs in a societal context and that he was in many ways reflecting the misogynistic mileu you mentioned.
